Evelyn Giles Johnson

Evelyn Giles Johnson, 77, of Marianna, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Jackson Hospital. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Chunky, Miss. She was a teacher for many years, having taught at Campbellton High School and Marianna High School where she taught English, Business and was a Guidance Counselor. She later retired from the Jackson County School System as Financial Director. Survivors include her husband, Milton H. Johnson, two sons, Jimmy Johnson, David Johnson and wife Kristi all of Marianna; four grandchildren, Sabin Johnson, Laura Holladay, Emily & Krista Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Johnson & Drew Holladay; two nieces, Ann Collins & Sonya Johnson; one nephew, Pistol Johnson; Very close friend, Peggy Mathis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Marianna with Revs. Michael Petty & Jack Hollis officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Family wishes to thank Hospice of the Emerald Coast and Dr. Joe Gay for their devoted and loving care.
