Evelyn Aline Glass Barber

Evelyn Glass Barber, 81, of Cottondale died Friday, August 15, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Barber was born in the Hickory Hill Community of Holmes County. She lived most of her life in Jackson County where she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cottondale. Survivors include her husband, Albert Douglas Barber; one son, John Douglas Barber and his wife Gloria of Tallahassee; five daughters, Sherry Gilbert and husband Charles of Cottondale, Becky Hempstead and husband, Gene of Quincy, Libbie Branning and husband, Dale of Cottondale, Jackie Ball and husband Greg of Cottondale, Ginger Martin and husband George of Hoover, AL.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery in Cottondale with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday at the funeral home.
