James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Fl 32446 850.482.2332 Ethel V. Blighton, 82, of Grand Ridge died Friday, February 15, 2008 at her home. A life long resident of Jackson County Mrs. Blighton attended Greenwood Baptist Church and was a life long member of the Greenwood Civic Club. She lived 40 years in Greenwood and two and a half years in Grand Ridge. She was known for her Sour Cream Pound Cakes. She was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon R. Blighton, her son Roy Blighton and her parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Parrish Yon. Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Mercer and husband, Harold of Dellwood, Kaye Tyus and husband, Ed of Grand Ridge; her son, Larry Blighton and wife, Sarah of Greenwood; a daughter-in-law, Lil Blighton of Greenwood; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, February 18, 2008 at Maddox Chapel with Revs. Ronnie Wright and Phillip May officiating, burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, February 17, 2008 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Friends may also visit the family at Mrs. Blighton's home, 7019 Hamilton Road in Grand Ridge.
