James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Florida 32446 850.482.2332 Esther Lee Durden, 90, of Grand Ridge died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Headland, Alabama and lifelong resident of of Jackson County. Retired from Florida State Hospital as a Nurse's Aide with 20 years of service. Mrs. Durden was a faithful member of Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in Grand Ridge. Preceded in death by her husband Hilton Durden, a grandson, Terrell Durden and one great-grandson Craig Earnest. Survivors include one son, Gene E. Durden and his wife, Sandra of Grand Ridge; two daughters, Dorothy Burch and husband, Fred of Grand Ridge, Merita Stanley and husband, John of Greenwood; two sisters in law, Voncile Parker and Doris Durden both of Grand Ridge; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, at Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with Revs. William Walker & Thomas Batts officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church near Grand Ridge.
