Estella L. Bishop, 70, of Marianna died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Jackson Hospital.
Estella was born in Marianna. She was a graduate of Marianna High School, Tom P. Haney, School of Cosmetology in Panama City and University of South Carolina where she obtained her Bachelors in Education. While living in Panama City, she owned and operated the Sunburst Hair Designs. After graduating from the University of South Carolina at Myrtle Beac, she taught Cosmetology there for some time then sold real estate for Century 21, Sunny South Properties.. After relocating back to Marianna, she taught Literacy at the Library then she served as Legislative Chairman for the American Legion, Smith-Kelly Post 100 then as commander, Disabled American Veterans Auxillary, 2nd District, State of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.H. Mears and Lucille Dykes Mears; her sister, Doris Alday. Survivors include her husband, Bill Bishop; son, Charles Franklin Morgan of Hawaii; brothers, Ralph & Wayne Mears both of Cypress; sisters, Jean Hevener (Don) of Tullahoma, TN, Martha Jo Rogers (Donnie), Marsha "Bootsie" Conrad (Steve), all of Cypress; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Maddox Chapel. Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the funeral at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
