Emory Mears

Emory Mears, 86, of Marianna died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his home. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Mears had resided in Hollywood, Florida most of his life prior to returning to Jackson County where he had resided for the past 20 years. He was a Tile contractor and a U. S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by is wife, Bert Mears; one brother, J. H. Mears; two sisters, Estelle Haviland and Lilli Bee Fiddler. Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Mears Engemann and husband Mike of Chappels, SC, Wanda Denton and husband Robert of Citra, Fl, Robin Mears and husband Scott Mapes of Ocala and Lindy Issacs of McIntosh, Fl.; one brother,Leroy Mears and wife Grace of Cypress; two sisters, Juanita Brock and husband Paul of Marianna and Louise Russell of Davie, Fl; nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Maddox Chapel with Bishop Wendell Brock officiating. Graveside funeral service will be 2 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Hollywood Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, Florida with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 1 pm till funeral time at Maddox Chapel.
