Edward Dwight "Ed" Williams

Edward Dwight "Ed" Williams, Jr., 91, of Grand Ridge died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Jackson Hospital. Born in Columbia, AL, Mr. Williams had resided in Jackson County since 1951. Ed was a US Army veteran serving in WWII. He was a former Cottage Parent at Sunland Center and a member of El Bethel Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Janie Blanche Killingsworth Williams. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Frances O. Williams of Grand Ridge; five sons, Ed Williams, III and wife, Beverly, Roger Williams all of Marianna; Rae Maphis and wife, Cathy of Grand Ridge, Charles Maphis and wife, Kimberly, Larry B. Maphis all of Sneads; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, October 18, 2014 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Howell and Rev. Clinton Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The Williams family will receive friends from 10 am untill funeral time, Saturday,. October 18, 2014 at Maddox Chapel.
