Edward W. Culbreth, 69, of Greenwood, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence. Preceded in death by his parents, Elbert & Ollie Culbreth; two brothers, Clayton & Joe Culbreth; one sister, Linda Gayle Culbreth. Mr. Culbreth was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, retired foreman in Construction. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Boone Brown Culbreth of Greenwood; two sons, Ronnie and Donnie Brown both of Greenwood; two granddaughters, Heather Brown Chambliss and husband, Andy, of Malone; Samatha Brown, of Bascom; two great-grandsons, Ashton Baxter, of Malone, Parker Beasley of Bascom; two brothers, Ivey Culbreth of Dothan, Cecil Culbreth of Ozark, AL.; five sisters, Frances Baird of Herando Beach, FL.,; Louise Hughes and husband, John of Dothan; Sarah Anderson, of Cottonwood, Betty Christian and Carl, of Dade City, FL.; Josephine Harrison, of Abbeville, AL.. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Wendall Beall officiating. interment will be in Bascom United Methodist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 19 at Maddox Chapel at 2 p.m.
