James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Edna Pearl Chason, 79, of Grand Ridge, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Chason was born in Jackson County and was a life long resident. She worked at Florida State Hospital for more than 30 years. After retiring she continued to take care of and love her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing for all the family gatherings. Mrs. Chason was of the Assembly of God faith and attended Sneads Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold "Dick" Chason; her parents, P.G. and Etta B. Granger and one brother, Thomas Granger. She is survived by two sons, James Allen Chason and wife, Melanie, Benny Harold Chason and wife, Donna; three brothers, Charles Granger, James Granger and Sidney Granger; grandchildren, Marissa Ballard and husband, Dusty, Caitlin Chason, Tina King and husband, Chad, Jamie Gross and husband, Ian and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Sneads Assembly of God Church with Revs. Juno Douglas & J. Clinton Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Sneads Assembly of God Church.
