James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Duane Kenneth Rogers, 80, of Altha died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at his residence. He was a native of Bascom, had Coached Basketball for more than 27 years. His career started at Ruckel Jr. High in Niceville, he later coached at Niceville High School and Crestview High School. He was Preceded in death by his parents; John Wesley and Maude Oswald Rogers, one Brother; Hiram. Survivors include his Wife of 59 years, Sarah Hickman Rogers of Altha, four children; Sheila Holloway and Husband, Don of Niceville, Kenny Rogers and Wife, Renee of Crestview, Denise Creel and Husband, Terry of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Jimmy Rogers and Wife, Christine of Altha. 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Rogers and his wife, Rowena of Bascom, John Rogers and his wife, Vicki of Pace, Raymond Rogers and his wife, JoAnna, of Milton; sister, Gail Rhodes and her husband, Frazier of Ashford, AL; sister-in-law, Lori Rogers, Billings MT. Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015 at Bascom First Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jim McIntosh officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends, Sunday, May 3, at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of Flowers, the family request that you do something special with your family in honor of Coach Rogers.
