Douglas May Junior was born in Vernon, Florida on April 17, 1927 to Noma (nee Parish) and Alexander Douglas May Senior. He passed away peacefully in his sleep February 28, 2022 at the age of 94 years old.
A retired truck driver for Coggin & Deermont, Douglas also served in the US Army as a corporal during the Korean conflict. The simplest pleasures of life brought Douglas great joy. He was devout Christian, An accomplished fisherman, if Douglas wasn't taking his wife on the river, he enjoyed spending time in fellowship with family and friends, eating good food, and especially watching his great-grandchildren swim.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Helen Cook and Sara Rhodes, as well as his wife and lifelong sweetheart, Willodean May (nee McKeithen).
He leaves behind his son, Doug May III (wife, Tina Diaz May); two grandchildren: Alex May IV (wife, Samantha May) and Katherine May; and three great grand -children: Xander May V , Mackenzie May, and Elliot May, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family have an intimate celebration of life and gathering Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1-3 PM At 5218 Chesnut Lane, Greenwood, FL. Private interment in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing..
