Dorothy Dinsmore Powell

Dorothy D. Powell, 92, of Alford died Monday, March 12, 2007 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. A native of New York, Mrs. Powell had resided in Compass Lake since 1975 and was an avid orchid grower. Survivors include two sons, Timothy Powell of Compass Lake and John R. Powell and wife Linda of Calif.; two daughters, Jean P. Wetherell and husband Billy of Jacksonville, Dorothy P. Markham and husband Morgan of Sycamore; one sister, Marjorie Glover of Rockville, Maryland; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Service of Remembrance visitation will be 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Maddox Chapel. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in charge of arrangements."
