Dorothy Chason

Dorothy Lee Browning Chason, age 79, of Marianna died on Friday November 7, 2014 in Marianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT Eugene Chason of Altha, parents T.B. and Carmen Browning, and a brother, Thomas Browning. Dorothy and Gene were married for 52 years. In the early years of their marriage, they traveled extensively due to Gene's 26 year Air Force career. Dorothy graduated high school from North Hollywood High, Los Angeles, California. The family eventually settled in Marianna in 1971. She was active at the First Assembly of God church for many years, and later attended Altha First Baptist. She loved her family and spending time with them, and also enjoyed several hobbies such as cake decorating, cooking, and flower arranging. Survivors include four children, Debby Green and husband Benny of Marianna, Garry Chason and wife Marsha, of Perry, Fl, Lisa Sanford and husband Dale of Lynn Haven, Fl, and Kimberly Miles and husband Sean, of Ocala, Fl. Dorothy has ten grandchildren; Brett Green, Chris Chason, Steven Green, Joey Chason, Derek Sanford, Daniel Sanford, Kaitlyn Miles, Ashlyn Miles, Jaelyn Miles, and Austin Miles. She has four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Green, Thomas Green, William Green and Corbin Chason. She is also survived by a sister, Ora and husband Charles Mock of Marianna. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2013 at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel. With Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
