James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Doris Ingram, 82, of Sneads, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Signature Healthcare at The Courtyard. Mrs. Ingram was a former member of Chattahoochee First Baptist Church and currently a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was known for her kind smile and open home. While able, she was a diligent worker in her church. Mrs. Ingram led W.M.U. programs, taught Sunday School and was a founding member of the 39'ers senior choir. Mrs. Ingram volunteered many years with Chattahoochee's Meals-On-Wheels program, which earned her a "Key" to the city. She volunteered at Florida State Hospital Auxiliary service. Doris had much pride in her yard work and was well- known for her cooking. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Doc" to nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to her friends at Signature Healthcare at The Courtyard for all the loving care they gave her. She is survived by one son, Ross Hupp and wife, June, of Pass Christian, MS; three daughters, Ruth Moncus and husband, Jim of Lafayette, LA, Vita Miller and husband, Fred of Lafayette, LA, Jodie Tyus and husband, Andrew, of Sneads; two sisters, Nelda Gray and husband, Les of Monroe, LA, Ginger Willis and husband, Gilbert, of Oakdale, LA; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ingram was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Monroe and Gladys Strother; her husbands, Roscoe Hupp and King Ingram; daughter, Janie Hupp; sister, Elaine Quirk and a brother, Bill Strother. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Revs. Dallas Ellis and Willie Butler officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Monday, May 28, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel. The family request flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 6940 Providence Church Road, Grand Ridge, FL 32442.
