Doris L. Alday

Doris L. Alday, 59, of Marianna died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in Bay Medical Center in Panama City. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. She worked in the family business, J & L Grocery in Cypress for fifteen years and later was employed with Department of Children and Families for more than nine years. Preceded in death by her parents, J H Mears and Maggie Lucille Dykes Mears; one son, Tony Edenfield. Survivors include her son, Jamie Edenfield of Marianna; two daughters, Heather Hamlin and husband Garrett of Cypress, Monecia Thomas of Panama City; two brothers, Ralph of Cypress, Wayne Mears of Grand Ridge; four sisters, Jean Hevener of Tullahoma, TN., Estella Bishop of Marianna, Martha Jo Rogers and Marsha Conrad both of Cypress; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mears officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to service Friday, at Maddox Chapel.
