Donald Johnson, 76, of Bascom, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at his residence.
Don was born in Hopewell, FL to the late, Charlie Evans and Mary Ellen Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army and owned Johnson Welding in Bascom where he lived for the past 42 years. Don loved being a pilot, flying, Western movies, his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Willine Johnson; one son, Eddie Johnson and wife, Malinda, all of Bascom; two daughters, Donna Dickson and husband, Jeff of Fluorescent, CO, Linda Gail Johnson of Manitou Springs, CO; one brother, Frankie Johnson of Ponce De Leon; one sister, Mary Helen Linton of Daleville, AL; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
The family request that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 4374 Lafayette St. Marianna, FL 32446, American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or to the charity of choice.
