James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Fl 32446 850-482-2332 Dean Bowen Griffin, 56, of Sneads died Monday, September 27, 2010 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was born in Crestview, moved to Marianna where he graduated from Marianna High School. Dean later received his masters degree from Troy State University. He retired from US Air Force as a Captain after more than 20 years of service. Dean loved his family, grandchildren and enjoyed church activities at Christian Center Church in Marianna where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Debora Griffin; two sons, Benjamin Andrew Griffin and wife, Crickett, of Greenwood, Timothy Matthew Griffin of Arkansas; one daughter, Joy G. Johnson and husband, Earl of North Carolina; three grandchildren, David Bowen Griffin, Samuel Crocket Griffin, Tobias Dean Johnson; one brother, Randy Carl Griffin of Mary Esther; one sister, Dana O'Conner. Family will receive friends Friday, October 1, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Christian Center Church in Marianna. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the church with Pastor Jack Hollis officiating and military honors to follow.
