David Tillman

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel David Wallace Tillman, 71, of Blountstown, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his residence. David was a native and life long resident of Blountstown. David and his wife were the former owners and operators of Mom and Pops Restaurant. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic from 1964 to 1974. He was a member of the Blountstown VFW and attended Blountstown Church of God. David loved fishing, reading Western novels, gardening with his wife and hosting fish fries. The loves of his life were his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Myra Smith Tillman; his brothers, Dwight Tillman and his sister, Janice Alday. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Barbara McCardle Sims Tillman of Blountstown; three sons, Davie Langford and wife, Barbara of Clewiston, Dustin Sims and wife, Jessica of Dothan; Cody Sims and wife Janine of Raleigh, NC; four daughters, Darlene See and husband Bob of Marianna, Lisa Folks and husband Donnie of Tampa Bay, Missy Williams and husband Scott of Vale, NC, Lana Morris and husband, Greg of Marianna; one brother, Delmer Tillman and wife, Ruth of Marianna; three sisters, Inez Capps and husband, Paul of Greenhead, Gretchen Griffin of Blountstown, Lavaine Williams and husband, Lloyd of Altha; one brother-in-law, Buster Alday of Blountstown; 18 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday,February 25, 2015 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Marvin Nichols and Rev. Ezra Caynor officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
