David Joseph "Rooster" Cogburn

David Joseph "Rooster" Cogburn, 62, of the Round Lake Community died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. A life long resident of Jackson County Mr. Cogburn was a Project Superintendent for GAC Contractors. He was a former racer and an avid racing fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Doris Hess Cogburn. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Fortune Cogburn; One son, Joseph Matthew Dillon Cogburn and wife Katie all of Round Lake; two daughters, Christy Perez and husband Pete, Amanda Dildy and husband Doug all of Crestview; two brothers, Joey Cogburn and Caz Smitherman both of Kynesville; two sisters, Helen Anderson and Seleta Cogburn both of Kynesville; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at James & SIkes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Ricky Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Round Lake Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until funeral time Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
