Daniel David Neel

Daniel David Neel, 81, of Sneads, Florida departed from his Earthly Home and entered into his Heavenly Home Saturday, January 11, 2025, after a long battle with Cancer.

Daniel David loved the outdoors, going to cattle auctions, raising goats, horses, donkeys, his Guinea, and his dog, Snow. He loved his children, family and friends dearly, but truly loved his Jesus. He was Baptized after giving his heart to God in 2009 at Sneads Assembly Of God Church, where he attended when his health permitted.

He worked for many years as a Ward Supervisor at Florida State Hospital, then went to work for Baxter Asphalt Company. He loved spending time with his children, sisters, brother, family and friends, and eating out, especially when it was Oysters.

Daniel David was preceded in death by his parents, Huston Earl & Nadine Neel; one son, David Earl Neel; four sisters, Ursula Neel, Geneva Whitehead, Brenda Herndon, Mary Lou Arnold; one brother, Junior Earl Neel; three special nephews, Kevin Wright, Tyler Arnold, Terry Whitehead; and a special sister-in-law, Patsy Neel all of Sneads, FL.

 He is survived by his daughters, Sonya Smith (Spencer), of Cottonwood, AL, Cindy Hewett (Kelly) of Bascom, FL; son, Danny Neel (Nina) of Sneads, FL; nine grandchildren, Cameron and Brynden Neel, of California, Justin Motley (Jessica) of Headland, AL, Tyler Motley of Sneads, FL, Gavin Kornegay of Sneads, FL, Meagan Hamilton (Josh) of Grand Ridge, FL, Carson and Cooper Neel of Sneads, FL, Courtney Whittington (Trevor) of Blountstown, FL; eight great-grandchildren Liam, Neel, Jaxson, Jayleigh, Aiden, Waylon, Beau, Mayleigh; two sisters, Sharon Dawson (Doyle), of Sneads, FL, Jeffie Ditty (Joe), of Malone, FL, one brother, Bernard Neel of Sneads, FL; one brother-in-law, Jake Arnold of Sneads, FL;  host of nieces, nephews, friends, and a special friend, Rodney of Tallahassee, FL. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Revs. Bill Mayo and Juno Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
