Daniel Cole, 86, of Cottondale died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard.
Daniel Wesley Cole was born on December 22, 1929 in Spearville, Kansas. Daniel joined the Navy where he served during the Korean Conflict, then went to work for the U.S. Border Patrol and enjoyed that immensely. Following his retirement from the U.S. Border Patrol he relocated to Alabama where he went to work for Alabama Power at the Farley Nuclear Plant. Daniel then moved to Marianna in 1990 where he owned a small horse farm. He enjoyed riding his horses and would take yearly trips to Colorado to round up cattle with his friend Floyd. He met and married his beloved wife, Cecelia and moved to Cottondale where they traveled and enjoyed spending time together for the past 10 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna. Daniel was a rock and always there for everyone. He will be greatly missed, but is in a better place. He is happy, healthy and active once again.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lucinda Cole Boyce; son, Stephen Cole and grandson, Travis Cole.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Cole; two daughters, Dana Cutts and husband, Tim of Marianna, Amanda Trino and husband, Joe of Cottondale; four sons, Andrew Cole and wife, Janet Lewis of Philadelphia, John McDaniel and wife, Angie of Marianna, Benny Cole and wife, Donna of Midland City, AL, Frank Cole and wife, Fran of Harrison, TN; three sisters, Mary Sinclair of Wichita, KS, Pat Stockton of North Carolina, Lavona Vines and husband, Bill of Rose Hill, KS; two brothers, Frank Cole of Georgia, Lawren Cole of Washington; grandchildren, David McLean and wife, Jennifer of Beaumont, TX, Bradley McLean and wife, Ashley of Midland City, AL, Angelina and Sabrina Trino, both of Cottondale, Destinee and Noah McDaniel, both of Marianna, Bryan Cole of Dothan, AL, Deanna Cole of Echo, AL, James Cole of Tennessee, Crystal Cole of Illinois and Donnie Cole of Nevada; three step-grandsons, Tim, Zachary and Jesse Cutts all of Michigan and seven great-grandchildren, Lyla, Gracyn, Clara, Kailynn, Audri, Austin and Payson.
A Service of Remeberance will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Marianna with Dr. Mark Long officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
