Cora Lee Baxter

Cora Lee Baxter, 87, of Dellwood died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at her residents. A native and life long resident of the Dellwood Community, Mrs. Baxter was a retired Cottage Parent with Sunland Center, a member of Welcome Assembly of God Church where she was very active serving in many capacities and taught Sunday School. Mrs. Baxter was known for her love of her family and church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Whit and Lila Hayes Fowler; four brothers, Green Fowler, Tom Fowler, John T. Fowler and Charlie Fowler; Two sisters, Estelle Hussey and Charity Hamilton. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Ralph Baxter of Dellwood; two sons, Richard Baxter and wife Sheri, Roger Baxter and wife Becky all of Dellwood; four daughters, Gennell Neel of Grand Ridge, Betty Miles and husband Adell of Sneads, Martha Matthews, Linda Mercer and husband Wayne all of Dellwood; one sister, Blonnie Stephens and husband Ralmon of Grand Ridge; 16 grand children and 31 great grandchidlren; Special Care Givers, Sherri Bodie, Ann Roberts, Brittany Baxter and Lorice Powell; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be 11 am Friday, October 31, 2008 at Welcome Assembly of God Church with Rev. Thomas Batts and Rev. Jack Howell officiating, interment will follow in the Welcome Assembly of God Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Welcome Assembly of God Church."
