Clinton H. Webb

December 16, 1932 — June 27, 2023

Clinton H. Webb, age 90, of Sneads, Florida, passed away on June 27, 2023, at home surrounded by family and friends. Clinton was born in Cottonwood, Alabama. He graduated from Chipola Junior College in Marianna then from Dothan Trade School with a certification in Mechanics.

He married the love of his life, Sarah Helen Pilcher Webb. They lived in Alabama for a short time, and Clinton worked for Dothan Lincoln Mercury for a few years before moving to Sneads, Florida, to work as a Correctional Officer at Apalachicola Correctional Institution. He worked at different departments throughout his career there and retired with over 30 years of service.

After his retirement from the Department of Corrections, he worked for the Jackson County School Board Transportation Department driving a school bus for 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Clinton loved to read and play card games with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel and go on vacations with his family. He loved to watch the Atlanta Braves play baseball every chance he could. He was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s ballgames and visiting with them often.

Clinton had a great sense of humor and could make his grandkids laugh with his silly faces and chasing them around the house. He was so full of life and laughter. He had an infectious laugh that everyone who knew him would love to get him tickled just to hear him laugh. He attended Rock Bluff Assembly of God for over 60 years and held many different positions throughout his ministry there. He was a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, choir director and drove the church bus for many years. He loved his church family and never missed an opportunity to talk to anyone about the Lord.

In the last few years, he enjoyed reading the local newspapers and completing the cipher and sudoku puzzles. Clinton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hosie Webb; his mother, Blanchie Lockart Webb; his brother, Carlos Webb; and sisters, Ludene Guy, Lorene Hoagland, Lucille Bishop, and Audrey Tolar.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sarah Webb; his son, Kenneth Alan Webb and daughter-in-law, Monica Rendon Webb of Sneads; his daughter, Karen Lynn Mayo, and son-in-law, Floyd Mayo of Gadsden, AL; his grandchildren: Kenneth Alan Webb, Jr. of Seattle, WA; Amanda Webb Bettis (Royce) of Seattle, WA; Chad Mayo (Lanie) of Locust Grove, GA; Sarah Katherine McConahy (Chris) of Atlanta, GA; Brian James (B.J.) Webb of Gainesville, FL; great-grandchildren: Brody Fletcher Mayo, Presley Kate Mayo, Hannah Lynn Mayo, Jaxon Danger Webb, and Brett Weston McConahy.
