Clinton Lewis Tipton

Clinton Lewis Tipton, 84, of Marianna, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, in Marianna. Mr. Tipton was a resident of Jackson County and a retired lineman with the Florida Public Utilities Company. He enjoyed music and his family, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, until his health failed him. He was one of ten sons of the late Chatman Bostic Tipton and Della Weeks Tipton of the Two Egg Community (Tipton's Crossroads). His is preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances Merlene Robinson Tipton; four sons, Lewis L. Tipton & wife Gail, Roy C. Tipton & wife Judy, Harold F. Tipton & wife Jane all of Marianna, Jimmy F. Tipton & wife Christy of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Marianna Church of God with Revs. Robert Johnson, Ron Freeman and Stephen Potter officiating, burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 2 at Maddox Chapel. Mr. Tipton's grandson's and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
