Cleveland Dallas Johnson, 92, died Monday, June 29, 2009 after a number of years of declining health. Born in Jackson County, he was a lifelong resident of Marianna. He was a 1938 graduate of Marianna High School, a graduate of Chipola Jr. College and attended Florida State University. He was a WWII Navy veteran and for many years operated Johnson's Gulf Service Station in Marianna. He was an avid fisherman. His most enjoyable times were spent fishing with friends and family. He followed college basketball with great interest. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin and Lilla Durham Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Johnson of Marianna; two children, Dallas Johnson and wife Sarah of Quincy, Gail Love and husband Steve of Atlanta; three step children, Brenda DeWitte, Jimmy Jenkins and Cathy Gravette all of Marianna; a host of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Elder Petey Sims and Rev. Wyatt Shiver officiating with interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Maddox Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 4440 Lafayette Street, Marianna, Florida 32446."
