Christine Barnes Freeman

Christine Barnes Freeman, 78, of Marianna, Florida, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2024. Born on April 3, 1946, in Alford, Florida. 

Christine married the love of her life, Thomas H. Freeman. They shared 46 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on March 4, 2011. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Christine was known for her unwavering work ethic as a self-employed business owner and her deep devotion to her family and faith. A woman of strong Christian values, she cherished her loved ones and the companionship of her cherished "fur babies." 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Freeman; her parents, George W. and Bessie R. Barnes; her brother, Harold Barnes; and her son, Thomas H. Freeman Jr. 

Christine’s memory will be forever treasured by her children: Sherri Lipford (Jamie), Mark Freeman (Michelle), Mike Freeman, and Terri Chason (Robert); her sisters: Vonnie Jackson and Jeanette Christmas; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family. 

A private burial service was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Vickery Cemetery, with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Christine’s care team at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice in Marianna for their compassionate care and support.
