Christine Crews

Hazel "Christine" Crews, 84, of Marianna went to be with The Lord on January 29, 2014. A native of Marianna, Mrs. Crews had resided in Jackson County her entire life. She was a life long and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna. She was a graduate of Marianna High School and upon graduation went to work with Nearing's Billing and Lumber Supply as well as working with Gillis Insurance Agency. In 1966 she became employed with Citizens State Bank where she worked until retiring in 1991. During her time at Citizens State Bank, Mrs. Crews' outgoing personality and friendly smile was appreciated by all those who had the fortunate opportunity to interact with her. While her work life was important it was her unwavering love for her family and friends for which she will be most remembered and truly missed. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Daun; her son Michael (wife Teri); two granddaughters, Jennie Christine and Kelly Elizabeth Crews. She is also survived by her brother, William Odell Medlock (wife Ruth) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, January 31, 2014 from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna. The funeral cortege will leave the church at 2:40 pm for a 3 pm graveside funeral service at Riverside Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, if desired, contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice.
