Charlie B. Holmes

Charlie B. Holmes, 66, of Marianna died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Marianna, Charlie was a former member of the National Guard, retired as a correctional officer from the Jackson Work Camp and a retired Marianna Police Officer having served 21 years with the Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Coley B. Holmes. Survivors include his daughter, Toni Stout and grand daughter Zoie; his mother, Vera Holmes all of Marianna; a sister, Mildred Lyle and husband Michael of Pensacola; a half brother Bobby Gene Holmes and wife Mary of Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, June 25, 2010 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Maddox Chapel.
