James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Charles Paul Croft, born November 6, 1941, died suddenly Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Dellwood. He was known to friends as "Charlie". He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, and a member of Grand Ridge Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included leather-crafting, woodworking, metal forging and enjoying the outdoors. He retired in 2003 from Terra Industries as an agricultural chemical salesman. Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruth Croft; two brothers, Dennis "Jr." Croft and William "Bill" Croft; two sisters, Frances Rebecca Croft and Laura Croft Hill. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Croft; three daughters, Laurie Hamilton and husband, John of Dellwood; Carol Childers and husband, David of Senatobia, MS; Paula Croft and friend, Rex Tyus of Marianna; Six granddaughters, Alana Green and husband, Jay of Marianna; Jordan Neel and friend, Rett Daniels of Dellwood; Danielle Childers, Claye Childers, Natalie Cornwell, and Olivia Cornwell; two great-granddaughters, Sydney and Hadley Green; one sister, Betty Lewis and husband, Hilton of Jensen Beach, Florida, one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Croft of Jacksonville; one brother-in-law Danny Russell of Brent, AL, special friends, Joyce and Bobby McDaniel of Sneads; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Grand Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Caron Harn officiating. Interment will follow in Dellwood Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
