James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Florida 32446 850.482.2332 Charles Fletcher Tatom, 86, of Greenwood, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer. Mr. Tatom was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Korean War. He was the oldest living Chipola College athlete, having played basketball, football and baseball for the school. Mr. Tatom was an avid fisherman, a member of the Masonic Harmony Lodge # 3 of Marianna and the Hadji Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Tatom; parents, E. Marx Tatom and Dora King Tatom; brother Marx Tatom. He is survived by one son, Charles Fletcher Tatom, II and wife, Jaime of Wetumpka, AL, one daughter, Charlotte Tatom Gormley and husband, John; one brother, George Tatom all of Dothan, AL.; sisters, Aida Wright of Auburndale, FL, Geraldine DuMars of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren, Laura Tatom, Zachary Tatom, Kimberly Jenkins and Cody Jenkins; three step-daughters, Patricia Mathews, Lisa Fowler, Teresa Jordan and their husbands and children; a special friend, Pamela Hamilton of Greenwood, FL. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with John Gormley officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood United Methodist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
