Charles R. Johnson, 79, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
He was born in Jasper, FL on March 19, 1944, to James Owen Johnson and Mary Bunnell Johnson. After growing up in the Madison and Lee area, Charles moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University. He met and married Helen Cundiff on June 3, 1967. Upon retirement, they moved to Marianna, FL.
Charles was passionate about God, family, all FSU sports, books, and sweets. He worked at North Florida Christian School and Sprint before later retiring as a safety officer from Bay County.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfred, Charley Edward, Joe, Archie; sisters, Leona, Marie, Edna, and Grace.
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen; children, Keith (DiDi) Johnson, Katy Flowers, Kristi Johnson; grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Lane, Zilphie, Jacob, Josie; brothers, Lonnie (Earline), James (Jan) Johnson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
