James & Sikes Funeral Home Sneads Chapel Charles Glen Hinson, Jr., 71, of Sneads, entered into Heavens Gates, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. Charles was born February 22, 1943 at Quincy Hospital to Charles G. Hinson, Sr., and Wardine Blair Hinson. He was a lifetime resident of Sneads, FL where he was employed for 41 years with the Department of Corrections and was known to everyone as "Chief". He was loved by all employees and inmates. Charles was a veteran of the Army National Guard, serving a tour of duty in Desert Storm. He retired with 23 years of service. He truly loved his country and was proud to have been able to serve his country. Charles was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police and attended Sneads Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; father Charles G. Hinson, Sr., and a very special life time friend, Sonny King. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judy; his mother, Wardine Hinson; three daughters, Tonya (Jerry) Brown, Jana (Theo) Hobbs, Joely (Pat) Edge; four grandchildren, Justin Brown, Lindsey (Timmy) Alford, Taylor Edge, Georgie (Trey) Pack; one great-grandson, Brantley Alford. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were the love of his life. three sisters, Sondra (Bob) Rooks, Cherry (Millard) Roberts, Susan Grice and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Sneads Assembly of God Church with Pastor Juno Douglas and Brother Jack Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Pope Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home of Sneads directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Sneads Assembly of God Church.
