James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Charles B. Cogburn, 81, of the Kynesville Community in Jackson County, passed away in the early morning hours of July 9, 2014 at Centre Pointe Health and Rehab in Tallahassee. Except for a brief period when Charles was a practicing barber in Perry FL. he spent his entire life farming. Charles had a gift of coaching cotton, soybeans and peanuts to thrive. He was more at home on a tractor plowing deep and straight furrows than he was driving an automobile in traffic. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adison and Bazzie Swails Cogburn, his sister, Shirley and brothers, Wesley and Otis Cogburn. Survivors include his sister, Frances Zawada; brother, William A. "Bill" Cogburn, Jr. and wife, Jean all of Tallahassee; niece, Seleta Cogburn, Patricia Cogburn, nephews, Jeff Zawada, Billy and Tom Cogburn. Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday, July 14, 2014 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Chap. Rick Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Kynesville Methodist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at 10 am Monday, July 14, 2014, one hour prior to service, at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made online at
