Cathy Jan Cook

Cathy Jan Cook, 68, of Grand Ridge, Florida passed peacefully after courageously fighting with Multiple Sclerosis, she entered her heavenly home, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 2, 1956, to Ray Melvin and Annie Mildred Folsom. She was born and raised in Grand Ridge, where she later met her husband of 50 years, Robert “Bobby” Cook. Together, they had two children and built a life they loved.

Jan, affectionately known as "Mammie", embodied what it meant to be a loving wife, mother and friend. She loved the Lord and attended church faithfully until her health declined. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed few things more than having her family around her table. Jan was very creative and enjoyed saving family memories in scrapbooks. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Time spent together was even more special when her grand-dogs were a part of the gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mildred Folsom; and her brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Folsom.

Survived by husband, Robert “Bobby” Cook; daughter, Anna Scott, and favorite son-in-law, Chad; son, Robert Eric Cook; grandchildren, Georgia McDaniel and favorite, grandson-in-law, Connor, Carrington Scott, Savannah Cook, Arlee Cook and Jace Cook, along with many friends and family who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be 10 AM, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Mike Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Dykes Cemetery in Sneads with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
