Jensen, 88, died April 16, 2009 at the Chipola Nursing Pavilion in Marianna. She was born on August 2, 1920 to the late Paul and Bertha Ritter Harkins in Walhalla, South Carolina. Catherine moved to Greenwood at an early age. She graduated from Florida State College for women, taught school in Jackson County for 35 years and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Marianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer K. Jensen; son, Nels P. Jensen; sister, Madeline H. Rountree brother, George W. Harkins and sister, Frances H. Pedry. Survivors include two sisters, Lorraine H. Williams of Malone and Julia H. Gilbert and husband, John of Orlando, Fl; a host of nieces and nephews. A special nephew, Martin K. Schack, Tim Benton and Sallie Mathis. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Marianna, Fl. with Father Charles Collins officiating.
