Carolyn Kirkland, 95, of Marianna died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Carolyn was a life-long resident of Marianna. She was the director of Arts and Crafts at Sunland, and was active in gardening and numerous civic and church programs. Carolyn was a 60 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Marianna.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Willis Kirkland and one son, Mike Kirkland in 1979.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. J.R. Kirkland and wife, Martha of Baltimore, Maryland, David Kirkland and wife, Phyllis of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be at Collins Mill Cemetery in Graceville with Chaplain Gino Mayo of Emerald Coast Hospice officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will be directing.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
Carolyn, her family and friends appreciate greatly the exemplary service and support of the staff at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center during her residence there for the past two years.
