Carole Hughes

November 11, 1944 — March 12, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Carole Jane Hughes, who went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2025, at the age of 80. A devoted woman of faith, she lived her life with grace, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and God.

Born November 11, 1944, in Columbia, South Carolina, to J.L. and Lurie Miller. Carole was blessed to marry the love of her life, William “Bumpa” Hughes who preceded her in death. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and devotion. They created a home that was a haven of warmth, laughter, and unwavering support.

A cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, Carole touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a beacon of strength and compassion, and she was always ready to welcome family and friends into her home. Her love was the foundation upon which her family was built, and her faith was the guiding light that led her through life’s joys and challenges. Her unwavering devotion to God was reflected in everything she did, from her selfless acts of kindness to the way she always put others first.

Carole is survived by her children, Donald (Lisa) Sampson, Dawson (Lisa) Redmon, Robbie Ann Redmon, and Kelly (Troy) Deese; grandchildren, Kasey, Kristopher, Jenni K, Kassandra, Sabrina, Alexandria, Jeff, Matt, Keri Ann, Ryan, Shauna K., Morgan, Kam, and Treelynn; and several great-grandchildren. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find peace in knowing that she is now in the loving arms of her Savior and reunited with her beloved Bill. Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of her life will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at First Assembly of God Cottondale with Rev. Chris Franklin officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Cottondale First Assembly Cemetery following the service with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23

Rest in peace. We love you, Mama. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
