Carl Lanier Peterson

Carl L. Peterson, 77, of Marianna died Tuesday July 20, 2010 in Marianna. He was a native of Blakley, GA. served in the U.S. Marine Corp., lived in Jackson County most of his life. Carl retired from Dept. of Corrections serving as a consultant. He was a member of Holly Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Peterson; his parents, Cyrus Peterson and Nancy Bridges Peterson; his brother, Charlie Peterson. Survivors include one daughter, Judy B. Hussey and husband, Leon; two grandsons, Tory Hussey and wife Amanda, Trey Hussey and wife, Ashley; four great-grandchildren, Cyann, Torin, Sydni and Lillian; two sisters, Elizabeth Gates and husband, Leland Ray of Graceville, Mary Holton and husband, Lunnie of Dothan, AL.; one brother, Frank Peterson of Graceville; three brothers-in-law, Delano Peters, James Peters and Paul Peters. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at Maddox Chapel with Donnie Hussey and Ervin Jennison officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
