He was a native of Coffee County, Alabama, lived most of his life in Jackson County where he was a retired Crane Operator and attended Cypress Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Shaw; four sons, Ricky Shaw and wife, Ellen of Dellwood, Terry Shaw and wife, Julia of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Shaw of Grand Ridge, Darrell Shaw and wife, Loretta of Bascom; three daughters, Gladys Mercer and husband, Tim, of Dellwood, Marcie Shaw of Grand Ridge, Shannon Jackson and husband, Wayne of Shady Grove; one brother, Linise Wesley of Sarasota; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Cypress Community Church with Rev. Jerry Mears officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com
