Buddy Lawrence

John Wayne "Buddy" Lawrence Jr., 76, died at his home, Friday, January 13, 2023.

Buddy was born in Two Egg, Florida. He is retired from The United States Department of Agriculture. He farmed for many years. He enjoyed talking to other farmers, he enjoyed helping the younger ones, giving them advice in helping them succeed. He enjoyed playing golf, reading and watching old westerns. He loved his family and was always willing to help any way he could.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Christine Lawrence.

Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Susan H. Lawrence; two son's, John (Tanya) Lawrence, Brett (Tonya) Lawrence; five grandchildren, Kyle Lawrence, Tyler (Carlee) Lawrence, Justin Lawrence, Hunter (Madison) Barnes and Gracie O'Neal: two sisters, Nell King, Lisa (Bruno) De-Sercey; his good friends, Jimmy Grant, Richard Baxter and John Evans.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Lovedale Baptist Church with Rev. John Wayne Lawrence lll officiating. Interment will follow in Lovedale Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lou Gehrig's Disease Foundation @donate.als.org

Asked to be pallbearers, Kyle Lawrence, Tyler Lawrence, Justin Lawrence, Hunter Barnes, Scott King, Wade King.  Honorary pallbearers: Jamie Green, Jimmy Grant, Richard Baxter, Steven King and Jeff Pittman.
