He was a native of Meridian, MS. He retired from Mississippi Power Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Kornegay in 2001. He is survived by a daughter, Dorothy McGee of Marianna; two sons, Gerald Lee Kornegay and wife, Beth, of Nashville, TN., Kenneth Wayne Kornegay and wife, Arwin, of Pachuta, MS.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 in Altha, FL., at Altha United Methodist Church with Dr. Frank Hyles and Martha Hyles officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service at The Altha United Methodist Church. Additional funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov 11, 2011 at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church, 12332 Cedar Lake Road, Biloxi, Mississippi, with Rev. George Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Morris Cemetery at the church, with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna, FL. directing. The family will receive friends Friday, Nov 11, at 12 noon, one hour prior to service at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church.
