James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Bruce Wooten Monroe, 62, died at his home in Grand Ridge on February 8. A 21 year resident of Marianna, he was born in San Diego, CA and spent his childhood years in Jacksonville, FL. Bruce was initially a plumber in Jacksonville and then worked as a machinist in Chicago before settling in Marianna where his mother, Margaret Page and stepfather, Carl Page, resided. He worked as a machinist in Marianna at Chipola Airtronics and Unimac. Mr. Monroe was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Page and father Buster Monroe(Lt. Comm, USN, Ret.), sister Marsha Monroe and stepson Eric Adams. His survivors include his wife of 23 years, Alma Monroe; three children, Bruce Monroe, Jr., Carl Monroe, Michelle Monroe; two step-sons, Jason Keith Grissett and wife, Tracie, Ricky Craig Grissett; brothers, James Monroe, Lance Webb, sisters Mary Irby and Melodeee Chapman as well as six grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Maddox Chapel with Jack Howell officiating. Bruce Monroe was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley and NASCAR Racing and enjoyed traveling.
