Bobby R. Sikes, 70, of Bonifay, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Bonifay, had lived in Germany and other parts of the United States with his parents, where his father was career military. Bob enlisted in the US Navy where he served before returning to Holmes County where he met his wife of almost 50 years, Martha Jo Carroll. He was in Transportation for a number of years, crew leader for Page Aircraft Corporation headquartered at Ft. Rucker. He loved to build cabinets and work with wood and enjoyed driving tours coaches for Southern Coaches of Dothan. He loved telling folks about the LORD. Survivors include his wife, Martha Jo Carroll Sikes; his son, Chris R. Sikes and his wife, Tracie of Marianna; his daughter, Gina S. Vickers of Prattville, Al.; three grandsons, Trae Hamm of Auburn, Al., Jordan and Jonathan Sikes both of Marianna; his mother, Thelma S. Brown of Chaparral, New Mexico; Brother, George Brown; three sisters, Debbie Story, Judy Quero, Kelly Summers. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Carmel Assembly of God Church, near Bonifay with Revs. Tommy Moore, Jack Howell and Maurice Jenkins officiating. The Brian Paul Family bluegrass gospel singers from Atlanta will be singing. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 15, from 6-9 p.m. immediately following the funeral service at Carmel Assembly of God, 1484, Carmel Church Road, Bonifay, Fl 32425, Ph.850.526.3266 Interment will be on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 10 a.m. in The Union Hill Baptist Cemetery, in the Bethlehem community near Bonifay.
