James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Bobbie Kent Barnes, 76, of Alford, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Barnes was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a retired clerk from the Dixie Dandy in Alford and Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Richard Barnes; parents, Florilla and Jessie Kent; brothers, Jessie Kent, Jr., Leonard Gerald Kent, Thad Travis Kent and Tommie Edgar Kent; daughter, Alice Annette Barnes; grandsons, Zachary Isiah Barnes, Raymond Edward Barnes She is survived by one daughter, Debra Diann Walters and husband, Albert of Chipley; six sons, Joe Ronnie Barnes and wife, Julie of Huntsville, AL., Preston Eugene Barnes, Donald Ray Barnes and wife, Maria all of Alford, Jessie Jefferson Barnes and wife, Judy, of Slocomb, AL., Garry Lynn Barnes and wife, Thelma of Compass Lake; Steve Allen Barnes of Crockett, TX.; one brother Herman Kent and wife, Jane of Round Lake; two sisters, Patricia Sewell and husband, Wade of Birmingham, AL and Betty Miles of Graceville; 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. James Vickery officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Free Will Baptist cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel.
