William "Bill" Walter Henley, Jr. , 83, of Campbellton died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Alachua County to the late, William Walter and Reba Elisabeth Miars Henley. He spent the majority of his life in the Jackson County community and served in the United States Armed Forces for 2 years. Bill was a self employed farmer and a loving pastor. He married his wife, Glenda Holley Henley, on October 11, 1958. In 1970 he and his family was named the Jackson County Farm Family of the Year. He served as the Director of the Jackson County Farm Bureau and Jackson Christian School. Bill was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Chipley, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Tillghman; brother, Lindy Henley; two granddaughters, Anna Hancock and Emaleerose Henley.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Glenda Holley Henley; one son, Walter Henley and wife, Michelle; three daughters, Belinda West and husband, David all of Campbellton, Ebby Sumner and husband Wayne of Bristol, Sara Hancock of Campbellton; three sisters, Betty Ann Vollenweider of Dallas, GA, Lu Connerley of Monroe, GA, Marthe Efurd of Marianna; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Berean Baptist Church in Chipley with Paul Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
