Beverly Rae Holmes Potter, 93, of Marianna, Florida, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Chipola Health and Rehab Center.
She was born on August 11, 1928, in Tulsa, OK, and graduated Tulsa Central High School in 1946. She married Bobby E. Potter on May 2, 1948, and celebrated 64 years together before his passing in 2013. They pastored Assemblies of God Churches in Chesterton and Columbus, Indiana, and Shawnee, Oklahoma City, Jenks, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. She cherished traveling with her husband while he served as Vice-President of Stewardship and Development for Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
Following the death of her husband, she moved to Marianna, Fl., in 2013 to be near her son where she attended First Assembly of God.
She loved God and her family and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and music. She was known to have a song for every occasion. Beverly’s quick wit and can-do attitude were her trademark. Her mission in life was to encourage everyone she met and point them to Jesus.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Inez Holmes, two brothers, Wesley and Jerry, and two sisters, Nadine Seitz and Phyliss Whisman, and one son, David E. Potter.
She is survived by one sister, Sandra (Terry) Troxell, Bixby, OK; one son, Stephen (Kathy) Potter, Marianna, FL; daughter-in-law, Barbara Potter, Marerro, LA; six grandchildren, Stacia (Vince) Spencer, Alecia (Michael) Corbin, Adena (Derek) Potter, Janie Gieschen, Malissa (Brett) Doud, and David Potter; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing for friends will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 4-5 PM at James & Sikes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in charge of arrangements.
