James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Betty Anderson Russell Betty Jean Anderson Ganey Russell, 75, of Bascom died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her residence. She was a native and life long resident of Bascom, where she was employed at Mary's Day Care Center and a member of First Baptist of Bascom. She loved her church, flowers, bowling, gospel music and children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Aubrey Ganey and John Russell; her parents, John L. and Ethel Kirkland Anderson. Survivors include her son, Randy Ganey and wife, Audrey of Dothan; one daughter, Cynthia Chambley of Daytona Beach, FL; one brother, Robert Anderson and wife, Mary of Bascom; one sister, Joan Wright & husband, Lonnie of DeFuniak; one sister-in-law, Dianne Kelley; two bothers-in-law, Larry & Jimmy Ganey; three grandchildren, Sylvia Crawford, and husband, Seth; Bobby Brown, Joshua Ingle; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Kenneth Crawford and Toby Wayne Crawford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Bascom Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Bascom Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until funeral time Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Bascom Baptist Church.
