James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Betty Howell McMullian, 80, of Tallahassee died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Bonifay, Florida on September 8, 1931. She worked for the State of Florida a few years before becoming a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a sweet, gracious, caring person to all her family and friends. She was a member of Towne East Baptist Church in Tallahassee. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amber McMullian in 1964. Survivors include her husband, Andrew J. "Andy" McMullian of Tallahassee; one daughter, Alice Beall Shirey of Tallahassee; one sister, Naoma Howell Foran and husband, Brady of Alford; two grandchildren, Joshua Shirey and Jessica Hartsfield and husband, Ben; two great-grandchildren, Aurora Biggs Shirey and Jackson Hartsfield; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 at Dellwood Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hankins and Father Andrew Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Dellwood Methodist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends following the funeral services at Dellwood Farms.
