Betty Dale Gilley

Betty Dale Gilley, age 79, of Grand Ridge, Florida was reunited in heaven with her husband of 40 years, Jesse Gilley Sr., on February 10, 2023. She was a precious soul who loved Jesus, her family and her friends with all that she had. Our lives here on earth will never be the same without her love and guidance.

Betty was born in Pikeville, KY on July 14, 1943 to Ed and Essie McNeely. In her teenage years, Betty and her best friend Josie moved to Florida where she met and married the love of her life, Jesse. Together they made a life filled with love, happiness and adventure for their children and grandchildren.

Betty always had a song for every situation and could make you laugh even on your worst day. She was that rare person that you loved to be around because she made you forget your worries for a while.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Jesse, their son Timmy, and her parents.

She is survived by two sons: Jesse Gilley Jr. and Paul Edward Gilley (Ramona); Four grandchildren:

Jesse Gilley III (Kayla), Lisa Gilley, Emily Bass (Ethan), and Randy Gilley; Eight great-grandchildren: Emjay, AJ, and Joshua Bramblett, Ann Marie Gilley and Jesse Gilley IV, Liam Gilley, Margot and Daisy Bass; One brother: Buck McNeely, four sisters: Shirley Fulmer, Loretta Hamilton, Debbie Depascal and Karen Hartman;

A very special nephew and wife, Paul and Mary Burns; along with a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel with Pastor Steven Subel officiating. Interment will be immediately after at Dykes Cemetery in Grand Ridge with James and Sikes directing. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm, one hour before the service, at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel.
