Rufus Benjamin "Ben" Revell, 95, of Grand Ridge died Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Signature Health Care.
Ben, as he was known to everyone, was born to Aubrey and Laura Revell on November 23, 1926. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. He worked with the Department of Transportation as a State Specifications Engineer until his retirement, but stayed very active until his passing. Ben was a proud Veteran of WWII, serving in Italy.
He as an avid Gator fan, and attended many games wherever they were. Ben truly enjoyed reading and gardening and became a hay farmer at 80 years of age! He enjoyed his farm very much, but it was his loving wife, Barbara that held his devotion.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey Gwen Revell and Laura Jones Revell; three brothers, Doyle Revell, Al Revell, James Revell and one sister, Jessie Revell Hewitt.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children, Alan Maples, Alex Maples, both of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jennifer Maples Henson (Chris), M. Scott Watkins (Laura), all of Pensacola, FL; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced later by James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
